Job Description

School Staff Instructor

(Competitive salary, part-time, permanent, term time plus some additional days in the holidays)

We are seeking to recruit an SSI to work closely with the Contingent Commander and relevant teachers and support staff.  This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that the School’s CCF programme is varied, motivational and safe, ensuring compliance with MOD and statutory safety requirements.

 Essentially you must have:

  • 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English, and 2 A-Levels or equivalent
  • Previous military service, preferably at officer or SNCO level
  • Knowledge of and experience working with relevant Health & Safety legislation/regulations
  • Management of people and management processes
  • Proven experience of managing equipment and stores
  • Knowledge of and experience working with relevant Health & Safety legislation/regulations
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with pupils, staff, parents and external organisations
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and also independently
  • Excellent ICT skills
  • Previous experience of working with cadets or young people is desirable in addition to relevant military and adventure training qualifications

 

This position is required for three days per week during term time and one day per week in the holidays.  The successful person will be required to work flexibly to accommodate occasions when they will be required to work during evenings and weekends.
