Job Description

OF&G was formed in 1973 as a marketing cooperative for organic produce but we are now a dedicated organic control body and certifier for a number of other sustainable land use schemes.

OF&G also offer inspection and certification for the Pasture For Life mark, commercial composting, as well as a scheme for the product of anaerobic digestion, the Biofertiliser Certification Scheme.  Certification is also provided for the Woodland Carbon Code and the Peatland Code.

OF&G certify over 1400 farmers, who farm more than half of the UK’s organic land, as well as companies ranging from small, independent processors to major multinationals.

Our role is to ensure that the Organic standards are carried out on organic farms and food businesses across the UK, and to offer support and guidance for businesses who are making the switch to organic.

OF&G is looking to recruit a Quality Systems Administrator to assist the Quality Systems Supervisor to ensure that all Inspection and Annual Questionnaire paperwork is sent out to Inspectors and Licensees in a timely and accurate fashion.  They will also monitor Inspection allocations to ensure all Producers and Processors are inspected as required, as well as making sure that Compliance Notices are returned in a given timeframe.

Other duties will include providing cover for the General Enquiries phone line, dealing with the general email account when the Office Administrator is on leave, assisting with the logging in of returned Inspection Reports and the general post, and preparing post for sending out when required.

Salary around £23,000 pa dependant on experience.

  • A multi-tasker, capable of on time completion of multiple tasks
  • Good computer skills - Word processing, spreadsheet and database entry knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels, both written and verbal
  • Good organisation skills
