Peripatetic Music Teacher

We have a vacancy for an experienced and inspirational visiting Drum Teacher. We are looking for someone who can teach across a broad age range (5 - 18 years), with the expertise and vision to encourage participation and bring the best out of students at any stage of their musical development.
You will be responsible for creating your own timetable in accordance with school policy, to ensure weekly lessons of half an hour are taught to your students on a 1:1 basis. You would be expected to oversee Percussion during orchestra rehearsals and direct a popular ensemble. This role would require you to perform at school concerts and various other musical events. You will also enter students for instrumental exams and provide parental feedback on an ongoing basis.
We have a handful of students currently wishing to start drum tuition but we would very much like to see interest and engagement grow across both Junior and Senior School. We would be very open to discussing and supporting any ideas for taking this forward.
A positive and engaging approach is essential for this role and the successful applicant will have significant performance experience. A diploma or degree in performance would be desirable however, this is not essential.
The GDST charges an annual fee of £5 for the rental of a practice room. You will be required to hold your own Public Liability Insurance and be/become registered as Self Employed.
