The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is a private sector led organisation that drives economic development across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Herefordshire.
Whilst the LEP team operates independently, Shropshire Council acts as its Accountable Body and provides financial, HR, legal and procurement functions under a service level agreement.
The LEP team, based in Shrewsbury on Battlefield Enterprise Park, works with partners to promote the area with government departments, attract public funding and support the development and delivery of economic growth and skills development projects.
This is an exciting time to join the LEP team as it works with partners to support economic recovery and demonstrate the wealth of careers opportunities across the Marches.
Due to securing additional funding from the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), a vacancy has arisen for a Marches LEP Careers Hub Lead to build on the successes of the CEC programme to date and develop a Careers Hub to support schools and colleges across the Marches.
With an informed understanding of the Marches economy, you will have significant experience of building relationships with senior stakeholders from education and business, a track record in project management and relevant knowledge of careers education and corporate social responsibility and of the barriers to employment facing young people.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with substantial experience of collaborative working. You will need to be adaptable, tenacious, positive and resilient and well-organised, with the ability to manage a busy workload and produce high quality work to tight deadlines.
Part of a small but busy team, you will play an important role in highlighting careers opportunities and supporting business engagement with schools.
