Job Description

PURPOSE OF ROLE

As a HR advisor, your main responsibility will be to offer support and advice to managers and employees on HR matters such as the recruiting of new staff, dealing with employee relations and performance management from disciplinary to grievance processes and performance to capability assessments for the business.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


• Regular review and maintenance of all HR related policies to ensure they remain compliant with all aspects of UK employment law
• Support Line Managers to provide day to day maintenance of all matters relating to the employee life cycle, including:

o Recruitment, including selecting routes to market, reviewing job descriptions, advertising positions, responding to enquiries, first sift of applications, attending interviews etc.
o Onboarding, including management of the starter, induction, and probation review process
o Administration relating to contracts and standard employment letters and maintenance of personnel files
o Conduct Exit interviews and provide feedback
• Supporting line managers with bi-annual performance review process
• Receiving and managing requests for flexible working and family friendly policies
• Providing guidance and administrative support on absence management, disciplinary and grievance procedures
• Work with occupational health and HR Team, to review, monitor and proactively manage site absence levels, looking at capability and reducing long term sickness cases
• Support with the Annual Staff Culture Survey
• Lead/Support with change management processes
• Attend Daily Operations/Departmental meetings and provide updates as and when required
• Conduct weekly PDCA Meetings with Managers and follow up with action plans
• Maintenance of all HR records in line with current employment law including GDPR requirements.
• Maintenance of job banding/grading profiles to ensure benchmarking across roles
• *ADP superuser, supporting the HR administrator in updating the system and ensuring that people have the required training needed
• Ensure payroll is prepared in a timely manner and accurately
• Support HR change projects, company initiatives and social corporate projects as and when required

• The role holder works to targets emanating from the strategic plan with limited supervision on a day-to-day basis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:
• Studying towards CIPD level 5
• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a related subject
• In-depth knowledge of current Employment Law
• Ability to handle employee relations matters
• Ability to prioritise and organise workload in a busy environment
• Attention to detail, specifically around legal notes; reports; letters; and data entry

Desirable:
• Psychometric assessment qualification
• Competency-based interview techniques
