Job Description

Beau Desert Golf Club require a part time handyman/gardener/maintenance person to be responsible for general maintenance in and around the clubhouse, the driving range, the club car park, and driveway approach. Occasional housekeeping duties around the course may also be required.

Beau Desert is ranked in the top 50 golf courses in England, and our members and visitors expect the environs of the clubhouse to be kept in first class order at all times.

A clear understanding of the need to present a clean, uncluttered, professional environment at all times is of paramount importance.  


  • Weekly fire test/check – alarm, emergency lighting, fire doors. Zonal check required
  • Weekly legionnaires test – hold & cold-water check with specific thermometer
  • Testing of defibrillator machine in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
  • Empty all rubbish bins regularly
  • Clean on course toilet
  • Ensure front and rear patio area is swept and any weeds removed
  • Ensure walkway to clubhouse is swept and any weeds removed
  • Maintain the garden areas on the approach to the clubhouse
  • Maintain seasonal hanging baskets
  • Ensure club signage – to include driveway signage is regularly cleaned and presents the best image
  • Keep the area around the shoe cleaner/compressor clean and tidy
  • Keep the undercover area approaching the men’s locker room swept and tidy
  • Clean kitchen fat traps when required
  • Keep all areas that can be viewed from the clubhouse free of clutter – hose pipes, incinerator bins etc.
  • Keep locker rooms clean and tidy
  • PAT testing and recording/safekeeping of results
  • Minor plumbing – sinks/drains etc


  • Ability to use power and small industrial tools
  • Ability to work to a schedule, without close supervision
  • Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems
  • Attention to detail



  • Carrying equipment & furniture – to include up and down stairways
  • Lifting & bending
  • Reasonable physical stamina



20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work to support club events.
