Forge Operators

BB Price is a family run business, located in the heart of the West Midlands. We have the following full-time position within the organisation for our site in Halesowen.

This is a stable position within an established company with competitive rates of pay, attractive employment benefits, and 33 days paid holiday per calendar year.

As a Forge Operator, your duties will include;

  • Performs daily PM’s and 5S of forging line equipment and the line area.
  • This position requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking for an entire eight-hour shift.
  • Report any defective equipment immediately and stop production.
  • Checks and maintains fluid levels of line equipment.
  • Operate forge press according to guidelines and in a safe manner.
  • Work in a one- or two-person team to forge and trim parts.
  • Accurately completes quality and production control documents.
  • Uses gauges to accurately measure and verify part dimensions.
  • Operate forging presses and clipping presses.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Must be able to lift bars ranging from 150mm to 1500mm length consistently.
  • Inspect parts for quality for folding, underfill, miss clipping and tooling damage. If any issues are found report immediately and stop production.

What you will need;

  • Experience in manufacturing in a forging environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of forging press operation, diesel fire operation and induction heating operation.
  • Ability to find quality issues report and stop job immediately.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and alone or in a 2-man team.
  • Physically fit / capable of lifting bars ranging from 12mm -40mm diameter and 150mm to 1500mm long.
  • Forging experience using both hands and tongs.
  • Capable of working in challenging work conditions.
  • Have a can-do attitude and be willing to listen and learn on job.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Focus on safety in a forging manufacturing environment.
  • UK Citizenship required due to government rules and regulations.
  • You must have good English language as communication in a forging environment is key for both safety and training.
  • Minimum 5 years forging manufacturing experience.
