Director of Finance
Ellesmere College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated Director of Finance to support the strategic and financial management of all matters relating to the College. The Director of Finance is accountable to the Headmaster and the Chair of the Board of Governors for the use of all funds and resources made available to the College and for the proper exercise of all financial, contractual and other responsibilities.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team to support the strategic decision making of the College. The post holder will be expected to lead the current Finance Team, interacting with both teaching and non-teaching staff, Parents and Governors and will be responsible for the School’s financial performance and accountability.
The successful candidate must have a strong flair for business opportunity, expertise in finance, experience of working with high-performing teams at senior leadership level and a clear understanding of how to run highly efficient support services to assist the organisation’s mission. Prior experience of working in a boarding/day school environment is not essential but candidates must possess a precise, analytical and agile mind, creativity, strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, a collaborative, team orientated approach, a sense of humour and commitment to the ethos and aims of the College.
Salary will be commensurate with the responsibilities of this role and calibre of the successful applicant.
